In this 1 hour training, learn the psycho-nutritional tools to help clients develop the cognitive, behavioral, and perceptual skills needed for understanding the effects their dietary intake patterns may be having on their mood, behavior and mental health. Learning Objectives: Participants will become aware of how the human body metabolizes macronutrients and how this process impacts mood via hormonal and other pathways in the body. Participants will learn how micronutrients and probiotics play a role in mood mood and overall mental health. Participants will be able to describe nutritional strategies that support mental health. Participants will also discuss how this information can be used with clients within their scope of practice. This training will be taught by Brooke Seiz, LCPC, SEP, NTP, IFMCP. Along with being a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Brooke is Board Certified in Holistic Nutrition, Certified in Functional Medicine, and also a certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. She has been teaching nutrition classes for over a decade and remains forever fascinated by the mind-body connection and how foods play a role in the function of the brain, impacting mood, thoughts, and behavior.
